A. Othniel has been involved in missions-Evangelism,
Church-planting, teaching and training the Pastors and lay leaders all
over India, and abroad, on making disciples, since 1985. His emphasis
in the ministry has been on ‘spirituality, maturity and quality ’ in
life and ministry based on: .1 Cor.3; Col. 1:28-29. etc.
Soon after accepting the Lord Jesus at the young age
of 17 years while studying his first year in College (1976), he began
to teach the Bible in the church meetings and among young people. He
was a topper in his high school and got distinction in his graduation.
Completed post-graduation in Science in Organic Chemistry in 1981, and
has worked as a Scientific Officer in a Chemical company near Mumbai
(1982-84), before resigning to enter full-time ministry in 1985, in
response to God's call. God's gracious gift, wonderful preparation and
miraculous calling chose him to reach the unreached and make disciples
of all nations as per Mathew 28:18-20. .
In addition to his own intensive study of the Scriptures,
has received training in Theology, Missions, Leadership, Communications
amd Church-planting from various International institutions in Singapore.
Has ministered in Singapore, Malaysia and South Africa, and also been
traveling to various States in India organizing, sponsoring and speaking
at conferences, to equip the saints for effective ministry.
The outstanding events in recent times include sposoring
and teaching at the All India Conferences
on Disciplemaking (for pastors and layleaders) at Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata
and Goa, and training more than 250 pastors in Assam and other places
in India. He had the privilege to speak at the 1st Conference of the
Global Network of Christian Indian Leaders (GONCIL) at Durban, South
Africa, in 2005. His multimedia presentation on "The Art of Making
Disciples" was very useful to the International leaders. And spoken
on "The Challenge of Missions and Partnership in Missions"
at Singapore in 2003.
Committed to reach the unreached people, ha sbeen a
missionary to the north Indians. Started church- planting in far off
places and has planted and been shepherding a small church in Thane
(North East Mumbai) in Maharastra State, which is one of the most resistant
states in India. Has also been touching city's professionals and students/youth
with practical seminars.
Having surrendered everything to the Lord and His Kingdom's
work, remained single, serving the Lord by faith alone, without taking
any salary or remuneration. Went through much poverty and suffering
in the beginning, miraculously sustained daily by the grace of Jehovah
Jireh. Exercised unlimited faith to conduct 10 days Intensive ministerial
training programs in Mumbai. Has ministered in almost all churches in
Mumbai. His heartbeat now is to multiply disciplemakers all over the
world. The Lord is leading him to teach the Nations of the world and
mentor the next generation.
Has written more than a dozen books
and numerous pamphlets on various doctrinal, ministerial and practical
issues . Many all over India and abroad, are using his manual on "The
Art of Making Disciples" and other books, in training leaders.
(2 Timothy 2:2). Has designed his own website and has online ministry
since 1999. His encouraging
and other messages on the internet are a blessing to many all over the
world.
The ministry has been (incorporated) registered as
"Calvary Centre" Charitable Trust in Thane (Mumbai) India,
with a Board of Seven Trustees. The formation of an international Board
is underway.
