Ambala, Haryana: Soon after returning from Punjab,
I had to rush to a house meeting at 7pm in Ambala Cantt. There were
a few families gathered in a small house in a slum area. Some sat
on the cot and some on the ground. After some time of sinigng, I shared
the Word of God in Hindi, on How God can use them and bless them from
Luke 5. A few people repsonded for prayer at the end of the meeting.
Here people need a lot of teaching and ministry as they are so backward
in so many ways.
A Wholeday Seminar for Youth:
A hotel hall was hired to hold a whole day seminar for youth at Ambala
on 20th Oct. However, all believers, including pastors of several
churches attended and were blessed. I spoke on How to be A winner
in life based on the lives of Joseph and David. There was group discussion
in the afternoon and all discussed about how to help young people
overcome temptations and win over challenges. Then, the closing message
was on making disciples.
The only drawback was that people here do not want to pay anything,
even the minimum registration charges! They want everything free and
all want to attend! This is the same situation wherever I went in
Haryana. It is very sad and depressing. A lot of teaching is needed
to help people understand the value of spiritual knowledge and the
blessing of giving for the Lord's work.
There is a disproportionate ratio of men to women in Haryana. Many
families are killing the baby girls in the womb. So the Pastor/missionary
has a lot of social change to bring about in the attitude and living
standards of people. It appears the pastors are not doing much in
terms of teaching, except that they only pray for the people's problems
and healing, etc. That's why there is a great need for discipling
in the north India ( of course, in south India too!).
