Disappointment: Our first stop on the tour from
Ambala, about 3 hours drive by car, was Karnal, where
a few youth came for the meeting. The pastor who promised to arrange
the meeting did not inform the youth, as his demands for money were
not met satisfactorily! It was so sad to see how they missed the good
opportunity to hear the Word of God due to the mischief of one pastor.
Though we had promised to help in arranging the lunch ,etc, he was
not convinced. I shared a short message for about half an hour and
moved on to the next place called Jind.
It is so depressing to know that the pastors demand money to arrange
meetings!! Instead of extending hosptiality to the visiting preacher
, they fleece him. A lot of money was spent for travelling and othe
arrangements as nobody contributed anything! God's Word is not honoured
and so no blessings.
Jind; Baby Dedication:
We reached Jind by evening on 17th Oct. Pastor David Samuel welcomed
us and offered rooms to stay overnight. In the evening we went to
a place where a six-day old baby was to be dedicated. There was no
electricity in that area (it is the same everywhere- no power!). we
used the car headlights to focus on the meeting place in the open
air. After sometime when the power came on, we started the meeting
and I shared the gospel. After the message, the baby was brought and
given into my arms to dedicate. The father was a hawker who sells
vegetables. they come from Hindu background and newly converted.
The cooking was done in the open air and we were given small roti
and boiled potatoes for dinner. This is the food I had to endure all
the days in Haryana and Delhi.
